Modsy Brand Refresh
Modsy is an online interior design service that puts the power of virtual room design in the hands of real designers. The branding was too tech-forward and needed to feel more elevated while reflecting the inspirational, design-focused nature of the service. I helped establish a new design direction for the brand and user experience. by teaming up with a small team of copywriters, designers and strategists.
Our brand voice attributes were distilled into four brand principles that were our guiding light in visual explorations.
Logo, Typography & Color palette
While the original Modsy logo succeeded in communicating the personalization and 3D aspect of the service, the saturated colors overpowered the imagery and felt in-cohesive. In order to retain the dual meaning of this recognizable mark, our team refreshed to the colors to a more muted palette.
We chose a new set of classic, web-friendly, yet elegant typefaces to add more contrast and versatility to the brand.
Imagery
A major component of the brand refresh was the incorporation of lifestyle photography in with our 3D images in order to bring more emotion to our brand. I helped get this off the ground by planning and art directing photoshoots.
Because 3D Renders are the heart of the Modsy brand, I also worked with our style team to define imagery standards to ensure we are showcasing the best of our abilities in image creation.
Web Experience
A large part of the brand refresh was implementing the new look and feel on our Marketing site. I lead the design with new mockups and worked closely with our product and dev team to bring it to life.
Landing Pages
When I first began at Modsy the only landing page experience was the home page. The team needed to quickly scale and be able to product new pages and content to better educate and convert the customer, as well as gain SEO traffic.
Working with a team of developers, I designed a set of flexible Wordpress landing page templates that could be easily replicated and maintained by the marketing team. This allowed us to quickly test landing page experiences across search, paid social, and email.
Emails
Collaborating with the content and lifecycle marketing teams, I helped design many emails from welcome flows, inspirational content emails, to promotional campaigns to drive package and merchandise sales.
